Oat Yogurt

One of the best things you can do for yourself and for your health is to increase your probiotic intake.

Probiotic capsules are great but consuming probiotic foods is even more powerful. Unfortunately, dairy products are not the best for your liver and hormonal balance, therefore a plant-based yogurt alternative can be an amazing addition to your diet.

This recipe is super easy and it has a very similar consistency and taste as regular yogurt.

If you are a vegan, you can buy cultures, or use probiotic capsules (Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Streptococcus thermophilus).

If you are OK with consuming a little bit of dairy, you can add regular yogurt as a starter.

Ingredients: 3/4 cup of oatmeal 1 liter of water

Put the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Put the mixture in a pot and bring it to boil and until it thinkens. You can strain it if you want to, it's not necessary.

When the oat milk is around 40 degrees, or hand warm, you can add the culture or 100 ml of yogurt. You can add a teaspoon of sugar or honey to make the end result more sour...that's optional. We don't use any sweetener.

Stir it and let it sit in a warm place for a few hours.

I'd advise putting in a little bit of salt before consumption, it makes it taste so much better.

You can use this in smoothies, cakes, fillings, instead of sour cream, etc...

After it's ready, store it in a fridge.

Enjoy! :)
