Natural ways to relieve pain - causes

Natural ways to relieve pain - causes

If you are kind of a person, who lives on painkillers, I would highly recommend you trying these natural alternatives. But even if you take them once in a while, prioritizing natural ways can preserve your health better than taking a drug.

The regular painkillers on the market are usually NSAIDs (non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs), they are good at reducing inflammation and relieving pain, therefore, these are the most commonly used drug group on the market. They are used for headaches, flu symptoms, toothaches, etc...

Artificial painkillers can have nasty side effects, even the most common ones. Ibuprofen, which is in Advil and some cold-relief drug concoctions, can mess up your sleep cycle, and also enhance the flu symptoms. Aspirin can cause bleeding in higher amounts. Actually, at the beginning of the 20th century, when the Spanish flu was infecting Europe, this was one of the biggest reasons of mortality. Doctors weren't sure about the maximum dosage, so some patients suffered from aspirin toxicity.

Paracetamol in high doses can cause damage or even liver failure, which is so common that according to a study, this drug causes the vast majority of the liver failures in the UK and US.

Some people eat painkillers like candies. It's definitely not healthy and I hope you are not one of them.

Pain is necessary, it's definitely uncomfortable but it's essential for survival. Why? Because if you don't feel pain, you won't escape the potential threats. Pain signals that something is wrong in your body. It's a SIGN, not a cause, therefore, treating the pain itself is like breaking the warning signal on your car's dashboard because it's annoying. If you are running out of oil, well, you might go a few miles, then your car will break.

The same is true for your body. Pain is a signal, it's a symptom of a deeper root cause, and you should definitely pay attention to it.

For example, not drinking enough water is one of the most common causes of headaches and it can be easily treated without painkillers. Also, on a long-run, not enough water can cause arthrosis, injuries due to decreased mobility, etc...

Pain also can be caused by inflammation. Most of the people are struggling with chronic underlying inflammation, which will cause further problems if it's not managed.

Therefore, I would recommend you consider a healthy diet as the first step to pain-free life. A diet with decreased amount or no meat, high in raw fruits and vegetables, as well as whole foods.

I would like to take a little side note for keto, which is a very popular diet nowadays. It's based on decreasing your carbohydrate intake to 5% or less, fat up to 80% or so, creating the sense of starvation in the body.

The problem is that this causes acidosis. The other issue is that people eat a LOT of meat and animal fat, which is incredibly dangerous from the aspect of cardiovascular diseases.

I you would like to know more about the dangers of keto diet, check out this post.

So, raw fruits and veggies are high in antioxidants, which fight inflammation.

Diet changes to relieve pain:

1. Eat less meat, animal fat, and dairy

Meat and dairy causes inflammation. It takes 72 hours to digest meat, while plants can be digested in 24 hours. That means that meat will stay in your bowels for too long, start to disintegrate, rot, an this will cause inflammation. Also, the meat products that you buy in your local food store is already 50% bacteria because at the moment, when an animal dies, bacteria start to take action to disintegrate the meat. With this, you can even get nasty infections not only inflammation.

Dairy products are inflammatory, too. They also increase IGF-1 levels, which enhances tumor growth.

2. Eat less processed sugar and processed foods in general

White sugar is very acidic. Its absorption can also depletes your body from important vitamins and minerals. High fructose corn syrup is very dangerous as well.

3. Decrease caffeine intake

Caffeine is a very common cause of headaches. You should be even more serious about this if you have high blood pressure, which itself causes headaches, and caffeine can worsen it.

4. Drink more water

Water for your body is like oil for your car. It makes every process run smoothly. Without enough water you will struggle to focus, lose weight, be flexible, have energy, etc...

Drink at least 2.5 liters of water every day. I prefer 3 or more.

5. Sort out your hormonal imbalances

Hormonal imbalances are very common causes of headaches and migraines. These imbalances are very common in the modern society due to xenoestrogens and stress. I've already made a few videos about this, so if you are interested, check them out by clicking here.

6. Get rid of artificial sweeteners

I mean it. Sweeteners like Nutrasweet (aspartame), saccharin, acesulfame, sucralose. These can do more harm than good. Experience has shown that instead of making to lose fat you will actually gain weight, and they can also disrupt your endocrine system. Stay away from them.

7. Say no to sodas

Sodas, especially the carbonated ones, are highly acidic. They can also contain high amounts of sugar of artificial sweeteners. Carbonic acid is one of the fastest ways to make your body acidic. With sodas, you are drinking carbonic acids with a glass or a can.

Swipe for kombucha if you like sparkling drinks. It's high in probiotics and much better for your health.

8. Eat a diet high in antioxidants

Raw fruits, vegetables, and also some spices can contain high levels of antioxidants. Make sure to implement them into your daily diet.

9. Green juices

Green juices are liquid supplements with all the benefits of vegetables minus the fiber. They can absorb within 15-20 minutes, helps you not only to fight inflammation but acidosis as well.
